Meet The Team

Andy Grand - Event Organiser - andy@ukgamefair.co.uk

I was born at home in Brundall a village just west of Norwich. At 2 years of age my parents bought a family home in Salhouse. I attended Salhouse primary school with my older brother and younger sister. I later moved onto Broadland High School from the age of 11. Whilst still at school I had many part time jobs to earn money including two paper rounds and kitchen work at the Hotel Wroxham.

After leaving school I spent several years gaining retail experience before I was able to get my dream job in sales. At 21 I joined a large East Anglian Based telecommunications company and after 6 years in the industry moved on to join Yellow Pages sales team where I had a very successful career.

I married Tracey in 1999 and it was at this stage that we wanted to start a family and we decided that working from home as opposed to many hours travelling each day and nights spent away would suit our future plans. Therefore I ran the business that Tracey had started. This led to becoming familiar with country shows and game fairs. In 2003 we set up 'Grand Promotion Events' to run our own show at the Norfolk Showground. We had valuable knowledge of trading at events over the past four years along with good contacts with trade exhibitors and coupled with my wealth of marketing experience 'The East Anglian Game & Country Fair' was born.

I am now very lucky to have two children age 7 and 4 who love attending the show each year. I also get valuable information from them on what they would like to see at the show and what they like about the show from a tiny person's perspective.

I was born at home, on our farm in Cawston. I enjoyed many happy years at Cawston Primary School with Mr Bale always encouraging me to achieve as my elder sister and brother had, whilst our nan was working hard in the kitchen preparing us healthy school dinners!

I went on to experience very different schooling at 'Thorpe House', before completing my A levels at City College, Norwich, and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from The Open University.

At the time my footwear company had taken off, trading at various shows across the country but the desire to spend more time at home with Andy and our Golden Retrievers, led me into doing a PGCE course and then teaching psychology A-level and degree courses at City College until having our son, Samuel.

Alexandra arrived 2 years later, by which time the 'game fair' was in it's 4th year - and going from strength to strength.

Sam and Alex have been to the show every year, and love the dock dogs, alpacas, donkeys, goats, otters, chickens, Jo Jingles and the candy floss...
